Exceptional Student Services – Bonus and Procomp Incentives
The following bonuses under Exceptional Student Services will continue into the 2023-24 School Year through starting by September 1st.
Effective October 20, 2022 we will be providing a sign on bonus of $2,000 for the following positions:
- Special Education Teacher – Apply online here
- Speech Language Pathologist – Apply online here
- School Nurse – Apply online here
- School Psychologist – Apply online here
In order to be eligible, candidates must be new to the district and/or new to position and selected on the job requisition between October 20, 2022 and February 1, 2023. In order to receive the sign on bonus, candidate must start working in the new position, payment will then be processed on the 1st or 2nd paycheck depending on start date. The full amount must be paid back in full if the employee leaves within 12 months of hire.
Hard-to-Staff Procomp Incentive of $2,000 is available for the following:
- Special Education Teachers (Center Program, Secondary M/M, Itinerant)
- Speech Language Pathologists
- School Nurses
If you are in any of these positions and are working in one of our Title 1 designated schools, you are eligible for an additional incentive of $2,000.
Additionally, we offer for these positions, up to $1,000 per year and up to a $6,000 lifetime maximum of Tuition and Student Loan Reimbursement.
Anyone newly hired into these roles between October 20, 2022 and February 1, 2023 will also be eligible to receive reimbursement for licensure costs with applying for or renewing their license with Colorado Department of Education.

Special Education Paraprofessionals – Sign On Bonus

Special Education Paraprofessionals candidates new to the district and/or new to position and selected on the job requisition between October 20, 2022 and February 1, 2023 will receive their $2,000 sign on bonus in June 2023, after they have successfully worked the remainder of the 2022-23 School Year and leave the school year in good standing.
Transportation Bonus Program
CDL New Hire Bonus – $2,000 in three disbursements:
- $750 Upon release to the terminal after successfully completing training.
- $750 Five months after hiring date or end of school year, whichever comes first.
- $500 End of September of the following school year.
Note: The employee must return to work the following year, bid for a route, and work until the end of September to receive the last incentive installment.
No-CDL New Hire Bonus – $1,500 in three disbursements:
- $500 Upon release to the terminal after successfully obtaining a CDL license and completing training.
- $500 Five months after hiring date or the end of the school year, whichever comes first.
- $500 End of September of the following school year.
Note: The employee must return to work the following year, bid for a route, and work until the end of September to receive the last incentive installment.
Any no-CDL or para who coverts to a CDL position will be eligible for the $1,500 bonus.
Department of Safety Bonus Program
New Campus Safety Officers- $2,000 in three disbursements:
- $750 after Academy
- $500 at 6 months of service
- $750 at 1 year of service
New Full Time Dispatch Officer- $2,000 in three disbursements:
- $500 upon completion of training
- $500 at 6 months of service
- $1,000 at 1 year of service
New Part Time Dispatch Officer- $1,000 in two disbursements:
- $500 at 6 months of service
- $500 at 1 year of service
New Patrol Officer- $2,000 in three disbursements:
- $500 upon completion of training
- $500 at 6 months of service
- $1,000 at a year of service
School Nurses (bonus program through 10/19/2022)
New School Nurses who are hired for the 2022-23 School Year will be eligible for a signing bonus of $2,000.
- Full amount will be paid at time of hire, but must be paid back in full if the employee leaves within 12 months of hire.
Guest Teacher/Substitute Teacher/
Our schools need extra support and our Guest Teachers are essential to ensuring our students and schools have the supports they need to provide a safe learning environment. For the 2022-23 School Year, all Guest Teachers/Daily Substitutes will receive incentive pay based on the hours they work – the more you work, the more you earn.
- Increase of $4.13 hourly/$33 per day incentive for our daily substitute teachers with substitute authorizations, $8.48 hourly/$67.84 per day incentive for our licensed retired teacher, and $1.91 hour/$15.28 per day incentive for our Long Term Subs.
- This equates to an $20 per hour/$160 per full day for daily subs with sub authorizations and $25 per hour/$200 per day for licensed daily teachers for the 2022-23 School Year.

The Sign-On operates in accordance with the following program requirements:
- Sign-On bonuses are awarded at the discretion of management with the Training department designee having final approval authority.
- The Transportation Department will provide a Sign-On form for completion by the applicant to indicate they understand the program rules.
- Any disputes arising from the application of this program will be the responsibility of the Training department management or their designee to resolve.
- A Training Designee will monitor the use of the Sign-On Bonus and will report annually on the use of the Program.
